Former Google CEO Eric Schmidt is obtaining citizenship in the European country of Cyprus, reported Recode. The move would reportedly allow Schmidt to avoid COVID-19-induced travel bans imposed across Europe and also provide tax breaks after he has invested a certain amount in the country, as part of the 'Citizenship by Investment' scheme of the country.
